What Is Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP)?

FEP stands for Fluorinated ethylene propylene. It is a type of fluoroplastic that is used as a cable outer to insulate and protect temperature sensor wire. It has very similar properties to PTFE and PFA such as low friction and non-reactivity to chemicals. FEP’s melting point is 260°C, but FEP temperature sensor cable operating temperature is limited to 200°C.

Any temperature sensor cable that is either PTFE or PFA can be substituted for FEP if required.
